Getting into Galapagos
Start by booking a flight to either the capital of Ecuador (Quito) or Guayaquil. The flight will drop you at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport or Jose Joaquin de Olmedo.
While at any of these airports, book another flight to the Galapagos Islands. If you will take a Galapagos Cruise or a Galapagos land-based tour, it is better to purchase your ticket with the tour operator.
When you arrive at Galapagos Island, the plane will either land at the Puerto Baquerizo Moreno airport on San Cristobal Island or the airport on Baltra Island
From there, you can take a taxi and ask the driver to drop you at the starting point of your traveling itinerary or just wait for your tour guide to be transferred to your hotel or cruise.
The Galapagos Islands offers landscapes and wildlife not found anywhere else in the world. But prior to marveling at the dramatic evidence of the region’s volcanic origin or swimming with the sea lions, you will need to ensure you prepare and pack accordingly.
